Welcome to White Rose Cheer!
Thank you for attending our free taster sessions! We are now pleased to communicate our training times which will be:
White Rose Origin – Mini Level 1 (ages 5-8) which will train TUESDAYS from 6pm-7.30pm at Westerton Primary School.
White Rose Odyssey – Youth Level 1 (ages 9-11) which will train THURSDAYS from 6pm-8pm at Westerton Primary School.
Please note that Junior aged athletes (12-14) are also welcome to attend on THURSDAYS until we begin our dedicated Junior aged team – watch this space!
We have based these days on the availability of the majority but understand that this may mean that some children cannot attend on their preferred day. If your child cannot train on the day that their age group trains please let us know and we will do our best to find a solution. (We have spoken to some parents regarding this already).
We are planning on taking our teams to the following three competitions in this 2015-2016 season:
|Competition name||Venue and Location||Date||Cost for cheerleader to enter||Spectator tickets – adult||Spectator tickets – children||Payment deadline for entry fees (paid to White Rose)|
|FutureCheer(FC) Circus Spectacular||English Institute of Sport, Sheffield||Saturday 5thMarch 2016||£25.00||£20.00||£10.00 (and under 5’s free).||Saturday 2nd January 2016|
|British Cheerleading Association(BCA) – Super Classic||Metro Radio Arena, Newcastle||Saturday 28th May 2016||£25.00 (plus £10 for a 3 year compulsory ID card)||£15.00||£10.00||Monday 7th March 2016|
|International Cheerleading Coalition (ICC) – Summer Jam||Norbreck Castle Hotel, Blackpool||Saturday 16th July 2016||£25.00||£8.00 per session (to watch both Origin and Odyssey will be £16.00)||Same pricing as adults||Tuesday 3rd May 2016|
Much more detail will be provided about each competition closer to the time but please plan to be there for the whole day – the specific times of when the cheerleaders will actually compete do not get released to us until a fortnight or so before the event. They could be at any time of the day. You do not need to spend money staying in a hotel (unless you’d like to). We will try to put on a coach to transfer the cheerleaders and their spectators to and from every competition and we anticipate a seat on the coach will cost between £10-20. This is not compulsory. It is also not compulsory for your child to have an adult accompany them – we as coaches will take responsibility for them for the day if for whatever reason you cannot attend.
Fees and payments
There is NO one-off joining fee to join White Rose Cheer – all of our costs have been factored into our monthly payments.
Origin’s fees are £25 per month, and Odyssey’s are £30 per month (reflecting the slightly longer class time). This includes hall hire, coaching, insurance, and music for all routines for the whole season.
Please let us know if you have more than one child joining the program as there may be sibling discounts available.
We would prefer to be paid by direct debit/standing order into the White Rose Cheer bank account for all fee and competition fees.
Account name: White Rose Cheer
Sort Code: 40-27-15
We will accept cash in circumstances/situations which prohibit bank transfers and provide receipts for all such transfers.
The first monthly payment will be 1st October and we will accept payments from the 1st-10th of every month – between these dates will be classed as an “on time” payment.
We do not want finances to be a barrier to ANYONE who wishes to access our classes. If you are feeling that finances are likely to be an issue, either now or at some point mid-season, please talk to a coach in confidence as we can set up a payment plan that suits you.
Uniform and kit
We wish to purchase a training kit before the end of September for all the cheerleaders to train in each practice. The cost of a White Rose Cheer tshirt (displaying the logo you will have seen the coaches wear, on a black background) will be £10, and a White Rose Cheer bow will be £5. We are happy to take this £15 payment in cash as soon as possible.
Throughout the season, other pieces of optional apparel will be available to purchase such as shorts, tracksuits, and backpacks all displaying the White Rose Cheer logo which the cheerleaders can wear to all practices, competitions and events.
The cost of a competition uniform can be expensive – around £100. We will soon be setting up some fundraising events such as bag packing – the more your cheerleader is present at fundraising events, the more money they will be earning towards a competition kit. We will make a decision as to whether we will purchase a full competition kit towards the end of October and will heavily consider parental opinion on this. If the decision is made not to purchase a competition kit, the cheerleaders will compete in their training tshirt, black shorts, training bow, and plain white trainers and in no way will it affect their scores or placement at competitions.
What you need to do next
- We would appreciate if this email is acknowledged. If there are problems with the team your child has been offered (for example, they cannot train at their given time as they are doing another activity) please contact us as we may be able to rectify this situation.
- Ensure that you fill out a detailed athlete information form, waiver, and code of conduct, which will be available as paper copies at next week’s practice. We will also be going through the code of conduct with the athletes at training as they are expected to sign it too. The copies of each form are available to view and print from our website https://whiterosecheer.wordpress.com/if you would prefer.
- Ensure your £15 is paid as soon as possible (before the end of September) to ensure your child will receive a training tshirt and bow at the first opportunity.
- Like our Facebook page – White Rose Cheer – as within the next 10 days or so you will be receiving an invitation to join our private Facebook page dedicated solely to your child’s team. This is a place to communicate directly with the coaches about matters relating to training, routines, stretching, competitions, and much more.
We are very excited about this season given the potential of the children we have met so far and look forward to working with them, and with you as parents in the near future!
