Mini Program – 7-8 years old

Standard

Our Mini Program is going from strength to strength and we now have two mini teams. All athletes who are 7 and 8 at the start of the academic year will be placed in a Mini team, although we occasionally invite younger athletes who we feel would fit in well.

OPAL are our beginner team for this age group. All brand new cheerleaders between the ages of 7-8 will be placed into this team. Coaches Helena, Sophie, Rozie and the Junior Coaches work very hard to teach these athletes how to lift each other safely, how to execute the basics of tumbling such as cartwheels and rolls, developing onto working on walkovers, and learn to listen to accents within music and how to move in time to a beat and perform. This season they will be competing in the Mini Prep Level 1 division at ICC Northerns (Blackpool), ICE Blizzard (Newcastle) and ICC Summer Jam (Blackpool). They train on a Tuesday 6.00-7.30pm.

ORIGIN are our advanced team for this age group. All cheerleaders between the ages of 7-8 with a walkover and strong stunting and performance skills will be invited to be a part of Team Origin. Coaches Kelly, Tinuade and the Junior Coaches work very hard to teach these athletes how to push the building skills at the top end of the Level 1 bracket, how to execute the more advanced Level 1 tumbling skills, and begin to learn the basics of the higher level skills, and learn to perform, be confident, and execute strong. This team has a stellar competitive record throughout its first two seasons. This season they will be competing in the Mini Level 1 division at ICC Northerns (Blackpool), ICC Nationals (Nottingham), ICC Battle of Champions (Peterborough) and ICC Summer Jam (Blackpool). They train on a Tuesday 6.00-7.30pm.
